Xuchang University and Oregon Institute of Technology Joint Undergraduate Education Program in Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering (Sino-US Cooperative Education) (Abbreviation)

Jointly operated by Xuchang University and the Oregon Institute of Technology (USA), this program was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2016 with an annual enrollment quota of 120 students. The four-year program adopts a “3+1” segmented educational model. Students complete their full-time studies at Xuchang University for the first three academic years. In the final year, students who meet the academic requirements of the Oregon Institute of Technology (with a minimum TOEFL score of 68, or Duolingo score of 95, or IELTS score of 6.0) are eligible to apply for study at the Oregon Institute of Technology.

Students who fail to meet the academic requirements for studying at the Oregon Institute of Technology, or are unable to do so due to objective reasons, will complete their final year of study at Xuchang University in accordance with the prescribed curriculum. Upon meeting the degree conferral standards, these students will be awarded a Bachelor’s Graduation Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate in Civil Engineering from Xuchang University.

Students who complete their studies, earn all the credits stipulated in the jointly developed curriculum, and meet the respective degree conferral requirements will be awarded a Bachelor’s Graduation Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate by Xuchang University. Simultaneously, they will be conferred a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Civil Engineering by the Oregon Institute of Technology.

During the first three academic years, students will study in China with a tuition fee of RMB 18,000 per student per year. In the fourth academic year, students will study in the United States and are required to pay tuition fees according to the Oregon Institute of Technology’s international student standards for that respective year.
