Xuchang University and Western Oregon University Joint Undergraduate Education Program in Dance

Dance (Sino-US Cooperative Education) (Abbreviation)


Jointly operated by Xuchang University and Western Oregon University (USA), this program was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2013 with an annual enrollment quota of 80 students. The four-year program adopts a “3+1” segmented educational model. Students complete their full-time studies at Xuchang University for the first three academic years. In the final year, students who meet the academic requirements of Western Oregon University (with a minimum TOEFL score of 60, or Duolingo score of 85, or IELTS score of 5.5) are eligible to apply for study at Western Oregon University.

Students who fail to meet the academic requirements for studying at Western Oregon University, or are unable to do so due to objective reasons, will complete their final year of study at Xuchang University in accordance with the prescribed curriculum. Upon meeting the degree conferral standards, these students will be awarded a Bachelor’s Graduation Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate in Dance from Xuchang University.

Students who complete their studies, earn all the credits stipulated in the jointly developed curriculum, and meet the respective degree conferral requirements will be awarded a Bachelor’s Graduation Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate by Xuchang University. Simultaneously, they will be conferred a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Dance by Western Oregon University.

During the first three academic years, students will study in China with a tuition fee of RMB 18,000 per student per year. In the fourth academic year, students will study in the United States and are required to pay tuition fees according to Western Oregon University’s international student standards for that respective year.
